Love is a silhouette

I wrote this last year for an English assignment about Shakespearean Sonnets, it’s not a typical Shakespearean Sonnet but it follows the structure in the majority of areas.

Love is a silhouette you can not see,
For it creeps up on you does not speak,
Like a wave of emotion forever
there; when time takes its toll it ends in despair.

When it first hits you and melts your heart,
And butterflies and emotions appear,
Your head gets confused and it’s hard to part,
But it doesn’t always stay that way dear.
As time clouds your judgement and nothing seems
quite right; feelings you once experienced
now leave you with that sense of fright.

Love is a silhouette that you can not see,
It creates shadows that will never leave.
